Five and a half months since my previous company closed it's doors. Wow, there are days it doesn't seem like it's been that long and other days that it feels like a lifetime.

And what have I learned in those 5+ months? I keep searching my heart to hear what the Lord is telling me.

He's has taught me patience. That's for sure. "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Col. 3:12

And an appreciation for family and friends who care about Lisa, Kristin, and I; who lift us up with prayers and more.

He's taught me what it's like for Lisa to feed the dogs at 2 AM. Not an easy or fun task for sure when you have 4 dogs jumping around waiting for their food bowl.

He's taught me to appreciate the change of season as temperatures began to lower in the Fall, plants and grasses began their hibernation; as I now watch the snow and ice melt from the back yard, the perennials beginning to push up through the ground, the grass begin to turn green, life restored to His wonderful creation.

And biggest of all, He's brought me to the realization that He is ALWAYS there for us. I knew this before. I've known it all my life. But, when your feeling down, you sometimes just wonder. You try not to but you do. And it's when you are at your lowest, struggling the most with your feelings and emotions, that He reaches out and reminds you how close He truly is. All he asks is that we trust Him. Jesus said in John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God ; trust also in me."

When you put everything in His hands, that's when He takes you in His arms, comforts you, and lifts you up. He gives you the peace and strength to endure whatever the world can throw at you.
